Comunidad Filmin is founded, registering the Filmin brand to distribute films online.

VOD Service
The first subscription-based VOD service is launched in Spain.
2012
HD release
First HD release of a film online in Spain.
2013
Simultaneous release
The platform innovates its distribution with the first simultaneous release in Spain of a film in cinemas and online with “Carmina o revienta”.
2014
Smart TV application
Presents the first Smart TV application in Europe for a VOD service.
2015
Film co-production
Becomes the first European VOD platform to co-produce a Spanish film: “Barcelona, noche de invierno” (Dani de la Orden).
2015
Television series
First online platform in Spain to broadcast a television series: “House of Cards”.
2016
Smart TV Apple TV
The first application for Apple TV in Europe is developed.
2017
FilminCAT platform
The first platform with content entirely in Catalan was launched: FilminCAT.
2018
AEVOD association
Establishes and has since presided over AEVOD, the Spanish association for video on demand.
2018
Private funds
The Private Equity funds NAZCA and SEAYA add to the capital of Comunidad Filmin S.L.
2018
Original series
Produces its first Original Series, “Doctor Portuondo”, which becomes the first TV series produced by an independent European online platform.
2021
Filmin feature films
Produces its first feature film: Oswald, el falsificador, nominated for the Goya and Gaudí Awards.
2022
More original productions
“Autodefensa”, our third Filmin Original, attracts a record number of viewers and two nominations for the Feroz Awards and the award for Best Series in the most important festivals in France (SeriesMania) and Germany (Seriencamp).
2023
Selftape
2023 saw the release of “Selftape”, nominated for Best Drama Series in the Feroz Awards, and the docuseries “Terenci: La fabulación infinita”; both enjoyed great success among critics and the public.
